1. Your photos and edits
When you select or capture a photo, all processing happens locally on your device:
- Background removal runs through Google's ML Kit Subject Segmentation, which operates on-device. The segmentation model is downloaded once from Google Play Services; your photo is never sent anywhere for processing.
- Brush edits, background replacement, outlines, shadows and all export formats (PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF, stickers) are produced on your device.
- Saved cutouts and projects are stored in the app's private storage on your device.
- Exported files are saved where you choose, using Android's standard storage.
We do not collect, receive, transmit, store or have any access to your photos or the files you create. Uninstalling the app removes its private storage, including saved projects.
2. Permissions the app requests
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Photos / media access | To let you select images to edit. On Android 13+ the system Photo Picker is used, which grants access only to the images you pick. |
| Camera | Only if you choose to take a photo inside the app. Nothing is captured in the background. |
| Internet / network state | To load ads, download the segmentation model, and send crash and analytics data. |
| Advertising ID | Used by Google AdMob for ad delivery and measurement. |
| Notifications (Android 13+) | Only to report progress on batch export jobs. |
3. Advertising
Cutora shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data such as your advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and interactions with ads, to serve and measure advertising.
- On first launch you are shown a consent screen (Google's User Messaging Platform) where, depending on your region, you can choose whether ads are personalised. No ad request is made before you respond.
- You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy options.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Android settings.
Google's practices are described in its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and its advertising information at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
If you buy the one-time Remove Ads purchase, no ad requests are made and no data is sent to AdMob.
4. Analytics and crash reporting
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to find crashes.
This collects information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, general region, session and usage events (for example: an export was started, a feature was opened), and — in the event of a crash — a diagnostic report including a stack trace and device state.
This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you. It never includes your photos, the contents of your edits, or file names. These services are subject to the same consent choice described in section 3; where consent is required and not given, events are not sent.
5. Purchases
The optional Remove Ads purchase is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Your payment details are processed by Google and are never seen by or shared with us. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase exists, which the app stores locally to keep ads switched off.
6. Data we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, calendar, call logs, health data, or the contents of your files. There is no account system and no login.
7. Sharing
We do not sell or share personal information for money or for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. The only third parties that receive any data are the Google services listed above, acting as our service providers for advertising, analytics, crash reporting and payments.
8. International transfers
Nainnie Labs is based in Pakistan. Where data is collected from users in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or the United States, that data is processed by Google's infrastructure under Google's own safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent.
Because we hold no personal data about you ourselves, most of these requests are exercised directly:
- Advertising: change your choice in Settings → Privacy options, or reset your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Analytics and crash data: withdraw consent through the same Privacy options screen.
- Everything on your device: uninstall the app.
For requests concerning data held by Google, please refer to Google's privacy policy. For anything else, contact us at hello@nainnielabs.com and we will respond within 30 days.
10. Children
Cutora is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us and we will act on it.
11. Data retention and security
We retain no user data on our own systems, because we operate none. Data held on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data held by Google is retained according to Google's own policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
