Summary (plain language)
Qurbah is a fully offline, private Islamic worship app. We designed it so your worship is between you and Allah — not us.
- We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data.
- There is no account, no sign-up, and no login.
- Everything you record in the app (prayers, dhikr counts, streaks, bookmarks, and so on) is stored only on your device.
- There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers.
- The app works without an internet connection. The only time it uses the internet is when youchoose to download Qur'an recitation audio.
The sections below explain this in more detail.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information about you. Qurbah has no servers of its own and no user accounts, so your data is never sent to us.
Data you create in the app — such as prayer logs, dhikr and tasbih counts, streaks, routine progress, challenge progress, bookmarks, memorization (hifz) progress, journey badges and milestones, and your settings — is stored locally on your device only. We have no ability to see or access it.
2. Location
Qurbah can use your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are.
- Your location is used on your device only. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Granting location permission is optional. If you decline, you can instead choose your city manually from the app's built-in, offline city list.
- We do not store a history of your locations or track your movements.
3. Internet use
The app is offline-first. It uses the internet in a limited way only:
- Qur'an recitation audio: When you choose to play or download recitation, the audio is fetched on demand from third-party Islamic audio sources and then cached on your device so it works offline afterwards. These requests go directly from your device to those sources; we do not route or log them.
Qurbah does not use the internet for advertising, analytics, tracking, crash reporting tied to your identity, or transmitting your worship data.
4. Permissions we request, and why
| Permission | Why it's used |
|---|---|
| Location (optional) | To calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla for your area, on-device only. You can decline and pick a city manually instead. |
| Notifications | To send you local prayer-time and dhikr reminders. Scheduled and shown on your device; nothing is sent to us. |
| Internet / network | Only to download Qur'an recitation audio when you request it. |
| Storage / files (as applicable) | To cache downloaded audio for offline use, and to let you export or import your own backup file if you choose. |
We request permissions only for features you can see in the app, and only when needed.
5. Data storage and backup
- All your data is stored locally on your device.
- If you choose to back upyour data, you can export it to a file, or use your device's own cloud backup (iCloud on iOS / Google backup on Android). In every case, the backup goes to your own storage or your own cloud account — we never receive or access it.
- Sacred content in the app (Qur'an text, translations, and supplications) is shipped with the app as read-only reference material and is never modified.
6. Data sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. Because we do not collect your data in the first place, there is nothing for us to share.
7. Third-party content
Qurbah includes verified Islamic content from third-party sources, used under their respective licenses and credited within the app (for example, Qur'an text and translations, a Creative Commons–licensed du'a/adhkar dataset, and recitation audio). When you download recitation audio, your request is handled by those third-party audio providers, who have their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review the app's in-app "Credits / About the texts" section for source and license details.
8. Children's privacy
Qurbah does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains Islamic religious content suitable for a general audience and does not include ads, social features, chat, or user-to-user communication.
9. Security
Because your data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us, it is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption, and OS protections). We recommend keeping your device secured and your operating system up to date.
10. Your choices and control
- Delete your data:You can clear the app's data from your device settings, or uninstall the app, at any time. This permanently removes your locally stored data from that device.
- Location: You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, and use manual city selection instead.
- Notifications: You can turn reminders on or off in the app or your device settings.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, note the change within the app or on our website. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

This document describes the privacy practices of the Qurbah app as designed: fully offline, with no collection of personal data. If the app's behavior changes in a future version (for example, if online or social features are added), this policy will be updated accordingly before those features are released.
