Shotly ("the app", "we") helps you organize, search and clean up the screenshots on your phone. This policy explains what the app accesses, what stays on your device, and what is shared with third parties (advertising only).

1. The short version

  • Your screenshots, their text, categories and search index never leave your device. We have no servers and no user accounts.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • The only data that leaves your device is what Google's advertising SDK (AdMob) collects to show ads, subject to your consent choices.

2. What the app accesses on your device

AccessWhy
Photos / screenshots (Android: READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, or limited selection; iOS: Photo Library)To find your screenshots, show them, and organize them into categories. You may grant limited access and the app works only with what you allow.
Photo library write accessTo save screenshots you choose into an album you name, and to delete screenshots you ask to delete.
Biometrics / device PIN (Face ID, fingerprint, USE_BIOMETRIC)Only to lock the optional Private Vault. Authentication is handled by your operating system; we never receive or store biometric data.
Internet / network stateOnly for ads, Play Store update checks and in-app review. The app's core features work offline.

3. Data processed on your device

To make screenshots searchable and organized, Shotly processes them locally:

Uninstalling the app removes this local data. Your original screenshots remain in your photo library unless you delete them.

4. Private Vault

The Private Vault hides selected screenshots from the app's lists and requires your device's biometric or PIN/passcode to open. Hiding is done inside the app's own database; it does not encrypt or move your photo files and does not hide them from other apps or the system gallery.

5. Advertising

Shotly shows ads (banner, native, interstitial, app-open and rewarded) through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use, per Google's policies:

Your screenshots and the text in them are never shared with advertisers or Google for ads.

Consent. Where required (for example the EEA, UK), the app shows Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform) and respects your choice. You can change it later in Settings → Privacy options. On iOS the app asks permission to track via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are non-personalized. You can also reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.

6. Other services

7. Children

Shotly is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data retention and your choices

We hold no personal data on servers. Local data stays until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. You can at any time revoke photo access in your device settings, change ad consent in the app, or reset your advertising ID.

9. Security

All data stays in the app's private storage on your device, protected by the operating system's sandbox. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but since nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side copy to breach.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
