No ads, no account, nothing collected

Your worship is not an advertising audience

Prayer apps have a difficult record on this. Independent testing of Muslim apps has repeatedly found heavy permission requests and, in reported cases, location data sold on to brokers. Qurbah takes the other route: no ads of any kind, no sign-up, no analytics, and nothing sent to us. Prayer times are calculated on your device, and if you would rather not share location at all, you can pick your city by hand and the app still works fully offline.

No ads, everNo banners, no pop-ups, and no premium tier that removes them.
No sign-upNothing to create, nothing to sign in to.
Nothing collectedNo analytics and no tracking of how you worship.
Location optionalPick a city by hand instead, and stay fully offline.
Computed on devicePrayer times and Qibla are worked out locally, worldwide.
Free foreverNo paywalls and no locked features.

What the app stores, and what it does not, is set out in the privacy policy.

More on Qurbah

Questions

Qurbah — frequently asked

Is there a Muslim prayer app with no ads?

Yes — Qurbah has no banners, no pop-ups and no premium tier that removes them, because there is nothing to remove. It is free with no paywalls and no locked features, and there is no sign-up, so there is no account attached to your worship.

Does Qurbah collect or share my data?

No. There is no account, no analytics and no behaviour tracking, and nothing is sent to us. Prayer times and Qibla are computed on your device. This matters in this category: independent testing of Muslim apps has found heavy permission requests, and there have been reported cases of prayer apps selling location data to brokers.

Does Qurbah work offline?

Yes. Prayer times, the Quran text, dhikr, adhkar and reminders all work with no connection. Recitation audio is the one thing downloaded, and only when you choose to download it, after which it plays offline too.

Can I use it without sharing my location?

Yes. Pick your city by hand instead and Qurbah calculates prayer times and Qibla from that, fully offline. Location is convenient, not required.

Which prayer time calculation methods are supported?

ISNA (North America), Muslim World League, Moonsighting Committee, Umm al-Qura, the Egyptian authority, Turkey's Diyanet, Karachi, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai and Singapore, among others. Set it once to match your local masjid and every prayer time, azan and widget follows it.

My app's prayer times do not match my mosque. Can I fix that?

Usually, yes, and it is rarely the app being wrong — two mosques using different calculation methods will print different times for the same day. In Qurbah you can set the method your mosque uses, choose Hanafi or standard Asr, set the twilight angles yourself in half-degree steps, and add a minute offset to any individual prayer. Between those four, you can normally land exactly on your masjid's timetable.

Does it have the later Hanafi Asr time?

Yes. Asr can follow the standard view (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) or the Hanafi one, which falls later — often by around 40 minutes, depending on the season and where you are. It is a single setting, separate from the calculation method, and both need to match your mosque.

Does it work in Britain, Canada and northern Europe?

Yes, and that case is handled specifically. At high latitudes the sun can fail to reach the twilight angle at all in summer, so a normal calculation gives no Fajr or Isha. Qurbah applies a high-latitude rule — such as a seventh of the night — to estimate them, and you can choose which rule to use.

Which English Quran translations are included?

Saheeh International, Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Pickthall, plus an English transliteration for reading along in Arabic. Four Urdu translations are included too — Kanz-ul-Iman, Jalandhry, Maududi and Ahmed Ali. All of them are on the device, so there is nothing to download to read.

Does Qurbah have a Qibla compass?

Yes, a built-in compass pointing to the direction of the Kaaba, worked out on your device from your location or the city you selected.

Can I track missed (qada) prayers?

Yes. Mark each of the five daily prayers in a tap and Qurbah records them as on time, late or missed, so your qada count is kept without you keeping a separate list.

What happens to my streak when I travel or am unwell?

Travel (Safar) mode keeps a streak from breaking while you are travelling or unwell. The whole tracker is designed to be gentle: it celebrates showing up rather than shaming a missed prayer, which is the opposite of how streaks usually work.

Can I read the Quran with audio in Qurbah?

Yes — the full Quran in verified Uthmani text, with translations and transliteration, recitation from renowned reciters, and ayah-by-ayah follow-along as you read. Audio can be downloaded for offline listening.

Is there a Ramadan mode with sehri and iftar times?

Yes, along with a Hijri calendar of important Islamic dates and a Khatam planner that paces your pages so you finish the Quran across the month.

Is Qurbah really free?

Yes, free forever — no paywalls, no premium locks and no ads funding it. Every feature described here is in the app for everyone.

Will I lose my streaks and progress on a new phone?

No. Export your data, or use your phone's own cloud backup, and restore it on the new device. The backup goes to your storage, never to us — which is also why we cannot recover it for you.

Pray, read and remember — offline.

Free on the App Store and Google Play.
